Think we have all done that, I ran a 1600 Sport into the ground and sold it for a pitance bach in the day when they were just a fun old scrappper to tool about in.I GAVE AWAY a nice unrestored F reg MKI (with 12" wheels) as at the time they were worthless and way too good to be scrapped when clearing out a mates lock-up (he'd moved permanently abroad)
I also weighed in several MKIII Cortina's and a MKIV two door !
If only I had a time machine.

Yep, two accident damaged Manta's I cut up and a solid white two door Ascona sold for a pittance.
Who doesn't have fully comp insurance on a 3 year old car ? Seems the original owner didn't otherwise why didn't they claim off insurance. Maybe they did and the car was actually an insurance write off in 1975 so no proper identity ?
it would be a nice car to restore, despite the damage but only on the road for 3 years from new ? not so sure about that & 34k over 3 years back then would be classed as high mileage
