mk 5 transit lack of power steering

One of our works Renault Traffic had an issue at low speed on the power steering.
After 4 trip to the Renault dealership, in Trowbridge, with no joy. It went over the road to the Vauxhall.

Who found the lower universal joint on the steering column had partially seized up, new on will be fitted today and I will get a van dumped on me.

That means reading and remembering things.

well no joy with this rack as yet, I turned the steering hard right and removed the right feed / return pipe expecting fluid to appear if the fluid was getting past the ram seal but nothing appeared so I know for sure its not the ram, so this leaves the spool valve, I have fitted a known working rack to it and its fine so its the valve but I can see nothing at all wrong with it which is a little annoying

One of our work vans, transit connect, has a stiff action when turning left.

it could be the spool valve, the valves have 4 seals if you damage one you lose the assistance turning one way

It will wait until I get there, it is a van the company own. Not one of the new lease hire.
