Can you get the Erbauer blades for it? About £15 a blade iirc. Might be less of a hit to your wallet if you are cutting something thats eating them.

Dart extreme metal blade. For how much I've used it very good indeed. Manged to get it brand new for 35, think they retail 100+ elsewhere. That's for 355.

That said, I'm going to ignore it too - I know you said you were done with the Rage blades but your experience really does seem to be far removed from the norm, compared to other Rage users, so I also wonder whether it's been a faulty blade or technique. Without wanting to cause any offence I'd tend toward the latter, as it would seem to be particularly bad luck to get a blade that bad.

As mentioned before, clamping is key. The clamps that come with the saws are pretty cack - I've had square stock jump out let alone round stock. There just isn't enough reach on the clamp, and the try-to-help-everyone V-shape on the foot ends up being the worst of all worlds.
So I routinely put a piece of wood between the clamp and the stock, and I use grooved wood if it's rounded pipe.

I haven't used a G clamp but I can see why / where that might help.

When the work piece starts moving then you get a lot of chatter from the blade and I immediately let up, kill the trigger, raise the blade, and fix what I clearly hadn't spend enough time fixing in the first place.

I'd give another Rage blade another chance, BB - and just make sure you clamp the work down securely.

the bore size is the same so for a tenner its got to be worth a try

I'm also thinking along the lines of a duff blade, interestingly I only clamp when cutting small pieces or at angles otherwise it wanders a little, if I'm cutting a straight 90° I don't tend to bother.

Going to pick the cheap blade up tomorrow...this rage blade won't even cut wood cleanly anymore, loads of breakout on the back of the cut and burn marks on the face of the cut...

For a tenner I will take a chance

Trouble with any blade, be it rage, bandsaw.... if it gets pinched and a tooth brakes off in the cut and stays embedded in the bottom, it will soon rip off a load more teeth.
There are different Evolution blades, Multipurpose, steel, stainless.... we always use the Steel specific ones.

where do you get the dedicated steel blades? if i ever need to cut wood i have a dedicated wood blade for it so a dedicated steel blade would be ideal

We just use one of our specialist suppliers, Wellington Welding or Parkins Industrial... you must have similar round your way.

A bit of a hijack here as I'm thinking of attempting to persuade my boss to get one of these to increase the speed and accuracy of fabrications in the workshop:

All this talk about clamping, is it necessary on 40, 50 and 80mm box section for 90 degree cuts?
Because I like the idea of the part being cool and almost burr free and I really like the speed of cut (compared to an abrasive saw) but the idea of having to clamp every piece of metal isn't very appealing. As the saw blade rotation should be pushing against the fence is it not enough to simply hold the piece firmly while gently cutting?

They don't like slow cuts either, think it blunts em. They get hot if they rub rather than cut.

I'd say it depends more on the length rather than thickness. If the piece is likely to jiggle around at all then the saw really doesn't like it.
But if you had an even base all the way along the length then I guess you'd be able to hold onto it with your left hand while chopping.
