I think they are in the secondhand market for the bits they are after.
Despite some of their stuff being made in china, and some of the low end stuff being pants there are some reasonable mics in their range. 2 guys in the finishing department at work use them, they are finishing dies that weld 0.068mm wire and are happy with them. I think they are nicer than the average micrometer. I would not buy their cheap stuff, a guy working on the surface grinder has a cheap moore and wright and it is not nice.
I have mitutoyos and they are nice, I use them every day and I will look after them but I would not be unhappy with the moore and wrights the finishing guys have if my work place said they were going to buy new and not send my mics for calibration.
