OK I realise this is a funny place to post this, but I am stumped. I have read as much on t'internet as I can stomach.
The wife's Mini 1.6 Cooper (2006) stripped an alternator belt. OK, I fitted a new one. That lasted 15 minutes.
I cleaned al the melted rubber from the pulleys using a soft wire brush (manual and rotary).
The only thing I can see is that the alternator pulley looks pretty rough, everything looks to be in line and spinning freely.
Any ideas?
I don't fancy changing the idler, friction wheel, bely, pulleys, as it will be over 500 quid and I go back to work offshore in 2 days.
Any Mini experts here?
Cheers m'dears.
