Milwaukee offering free upgrade on "Insider" Power Ratchets

I am impressed by them not just responding to user criticism, but making the update retroactive for anyone who already owns the tool...

Doesn't benefit me as a fully paid up member of "team teal", but fantastic customer service from Milwaukee there.

Exactly, it felt like something worth promoting.

Admittedly other manufacturers with that head style avoided the design flaw in the first place by using a beefy hog-ring on the square drive inserts to begin with, but none of them make a ratchet as compact as those M12's either.

I had those for ratchet spanners years ago.
Just surprised that it gets overlooked so easily.

They made it to be compatible with a special set of proprietary low-profile sockets to fit the internal hex of the ratchet, which needed to be quick change like normal square drive...

They sold it with an adapter to fit normal square drive and failed to anticipate that's what most users would use, and that it shouldn't be quick change...

I think the oversight was their marketing team believing more people would be willing to buy yet more socketry, than would go "why does this constantly fall out" and try to warranty the tool operating as designed.

I am still amazed they owned up to the mistake, fixed it, and aren't selling it as an optional "upgrade".
