Milliput epoxy resin putty-what have you used it on.

I`ve just been looking at some Milliput epoxy resin putty online

What are it`s various uses, and is it the same stuff that is sometimes used to fix railings on top of walls? I`ve never actually seen it, but am always interested to learn about things I`ve never tried.

This sounds like the colour represents a different grade (for a different purpose/use) Am I correct?

I used it to fill the holes in my drill press table.

It's been around for decades.

I've got a load of it [eBay ] - last time I used it was to make a 'cast' of the lead-screw on my RandA lathe so that my mate could make new half-nuts for me.

Dries like rock and can be drilled, tapped etc -allegedly, as I've never tried those with it. Comes as a two-part putty which you mix together.

basically resin mix with filler and added colour ,ideal for fixing old terracotta pots and the like, engineering wise I have used the metal paste type eqivalent, its designed for repaing cracked engine blocks and if used correctly works excellent. Arther

Scale modellers use it for hiding mould gaps on plastic models like the ones you usually get where a wing meets a fuselage for instance, the consistency is smooth and you can work with it for a while which means you don't need much and it sands nice and smooth, and hard enough to scribe a line in after if you lost any panel detail by putting filler over it. Not much use on a welding forum but knowledge is power so they say...

Is the metal paste type also a milliput product, or are you referring to something else?

I've used it as a general filler on plastic item many times.

When i was a kid, i used to use it on lead figures.
