Hello,
I need to cut a recess in a piece of flat stock approx 2mm deep and which has curved edges front to back (see sketch), I've bought a cheap china rotary table but ran in to trouble (offcourse :-), it's china :-) ) during testing.
Using a 2 lip 12mm hss cutter at 500 rpm, DOC 1mm on mild steel, when I start turning the rotary table and engage the cutter it feels like it's pulling in the work piece and then releasing it, not a vibration but really moving the rotary table back and forth a little bit, like the cutter is grabbing and then releasing, hard to explain. Probably caused by the cheap china rotary table, but maybe i'm doing something else wrong (rpm?) also therefore my question. It also chipped the cutter immediately.
