When cutting mild steel I usually find it easier to go up in stages.
If you had the time it would be good to go up 1mm at a time. But overkill in most cases.
However I seem to remember boring some holes out in Hardened material with carbide and ruining the cutter by going to slow. That was from 10mm to 12mm.
What is the correct way to drill/mill/plungecut Hardened steel?
I am now assuming , quite quick and take 2mm out at once.
Is that correct?
