Don't talk to me about cheap china tool posts...Cheers for that, yeah I’m happy buying cheaper tooling as it’ll not got a lot of use. I’ve got a cheap Chinese quick change tool post on the lathe and it’s fine, the grub screens that secured the tools were been made from plastercine but other than that it’s up to the job.
The bangood brand you mention I can only find on American sites but the prices do look good. Do you have a link to a Uk vender or just check eBay?
Some photos of the milling machine itself would be nice!

Set up for boring and as I gave the lever a wack to tighten the post it snapped and my left hand got eaten by a 6" chuck.
Got off lightly losing skin off one knuckle and ripping another finger open.
Turned out the handle was cast.
I had a 2vsb, it was my first big/real mill. Bought it from home and workshop machinery in kent back in the nineties, had to get bank loan!
With no ebay or internet your only option was getting boned by dealers who themselves had paid nothing.
The a&s is a great machine, the head dwarfs a big Cincinnati and the Vernier scale on the tilt is dead accurate.
The spindle taper is 40int. Bang good don't seem to do that size so the cheap option for a er32 or 40 chuck is to buy a bt40 for peanuts remove the pull lug and make a new draw bar. The drive tenons will need grinding out on it as well.
Don't discount the Clarkson autolocks if you bump into one cheap though I prefer er as you can mount non threaded stuff in there like drills ,carbide milling cutters and a dti
