Hi can you give you opinion for the MILLER europa welders I know they are not the same quality as the usa are they any good what about inverter mig ? what do you think for the one above ?

just had a look at the specs, 99% sure thats a typo where it says 2-220 for mig should be 20-220, miller have a good reputation and i can't imagine it being a bad machine, at least as a mig welder, usually those multi process machines aren't actually great tig welders, in my opinion you're better off with a tig and a mig as separate machines, unless you are actually doing work where you need both and portability is key.

have you seen the other small migs if a portable mig is what you're after? like the kemppi minarc mig 200? or the esab caddy 200? good looking machines

it's all down to what you want it for really, if it's just gunna be used as a mig i reckon just get a mig, if you have serious mig and tig work to do, get a mig and a tig as separate machines unless you really really need the portability..

I can't find another mig that going down to 20 amp other than portamig don't wan't wait 4 weeks for del. the one you recommend 1000£ for small welder is bid too much also the miller 4 roll feed unit look good

the miller is over £1000 isn't it? 20 amp is unnecessary imo, what are you planning to do with it? if it's car body thickness 30 is easy, also if you have a stitch weld timer/function you can weld very thin very easy, i set up my new lorch to have a go on 1mm with the stitch timer on just to see how it worked, and it was way too cold on minimum which is listed as 30amps, had to use volt step 3 of 12

Lorch M-pro could be one to look at the 210 seeing as the miller there is £1100 at least and you want it to last so a wheel mounted transformer based machine is probably ideal, i think that oxfords go down to 20 amp too, made by the same people as the portamig but different spec and in a green box

yes the oxford 240-1 20-240amps that 4roll on the miller doesn't look the best design to me, only one tensioner for both rollers.

do you think 30 amp is good for 0.5 sheet metal in that case they are a loot of options is the lorch 210 mpro goes to 25 amp

yes you can get it with 4roll feed i had a demo on the 210 with the 4roll feed before ordering mine costs abit more for the m-pro control pro, that is 4roll feed and v/a meters, i got the M-Pro 252 control pro btw when i was running step 3 of 12 welding 1mm with 0.8 wire and the stitch weld function it was showing 28amps on the amp meter this is the 252 that says it goes down to 30amps and that was as i said power step 3 the 210 says 25, don't think you'd have a problem welding 0.5 with the stitch weld function at all, ask matt1978 on here about it, he's very helpful

£200-300 i think but it's not just the 4roll feed it's also the v/a meters a lot of welders look like they come with v/a meters but actually don't, some cost £300 just for the v/a meter option, i have no doubt that the M-Pro would out last the miller portable machine by along way too, the build quality is incredible.

unfortunately I don't think i have and 0.5 steel around but i will have a look and try it out tomorrow if i can find some, though the lowest setting on my 252 is for 0.6 steel so i think it'd weld really very very thin steel with some practice and the stitch weld function

edit: might have some 0.8 steel some where

hey matt, the m-pro 210 control pro should have no problem on the 0.5mm he wants to weld anyway should it, can't imagine it losing out to that little miller on performance!

I just wanted to clarify that the CuSi machine was 3-ph and not 230v like the 210 he was looking at.

you can't really run a 3phase welder of a phase converter if that's what you are talking about doing, if you only have a single phase supply find a suitable single phase welder, the Lorch CuSi models are for mig brazing, not normal mig welding, it really depends what you want to be doing with it, if you want to braze the 0.5 steel the a CuSi model would be ideal, if you want to weld the metal then the M-Pro 210 control pro would be ideal if the 4 roll wire feed is essential, personally, i don't see why the 4roll feed is needed for thin metal, in which case you could go with an M-pro 170 basic plus which is considerably cheaper than a 210 control pro, and since you say it's basically just for thin/sheet metal the 170 should be more than enough machine for your needs
