I'm very tempted by the R-Tech as they're pretty much everlasts and they get fantastic reviews all round in the states just terrible customer service (not an issue as R-tech is the polar opposite from what I hear).
Having not used AC before I did wonder thisI wouldn't worry about the wave forms. I have one welder with and one without. You can induce similar effects by changing the pulse frequency and trimming other settings. I think they benefit marketing people more than anything.
Its easy to tell who made it if you take a picture and share it on here. The lorch and sanrex machines are instantly recognisable.
Thats a Lorch underneath.![]()

The tweco did seem steep but good to know thats a lorch model. They're the ones also selling the dynasty.Thats a Lorch underneath.
Westermans are great to deal with, although their prices are average to high. They'll see you right though. If you're local, get them to give you a demo before you buy.
Not sure I'd spend £1600+vat on that though, not without a watercooler, even then its a bit pricey for only 4 months warranty.
Tbh I over think everything lol especially when I'm spending a chunk on something like this. Appreciate everyones advice though makes it easier to pull the trigger on one and know I've not bought a brick because it looked shineyYour over thinking this a bit. For a person learning and your budget a new machine with warranty is a no brainer for me. If you buy an acdc tig paraweld for example your budget will get you a pedal as well.
I'm sure the miller 200 was all American made.I don’t know about miller. Are they miller made or also rebrand something else?
What would ve a good price for the tweco? I've never heard of them before this so no idea on price. ThanksI like this approach. Going for best quality and value that you can get.
The miller dynasty 200 is a well regarded welder but do remember that the original 200s are quite old now.
Not that it would stop me if the price was right. We still have a Miller XMT in our shop that welds as good as it did when it was made, nearly 27 years ago now...
Ultimately though, i think the miller 200 is a bad deal when you can get a much younger tweco arcmaster for less money, and even that isn't the bargain of the century.
Gun to my head, I'd go with the tweco.
The tweco is the thermalarc... It says it on the side of itWhat would ve a good price for the tweco? I've never heard of them before this so no idea on price. Thanks
Thanks I'll have a look, haven't heard of them before. You could get a Paton ProTig 200 ac/dc for less than £1200. Not used one myself, but they are well respected on this forum. Maybe our sponsor could advise.
