Miller Syncrowave and UK wiring

Yours is probably an Italian made one (Interlas) like mine. The numbers don't look up on the Miller site.

I believe L1 live, L2 Neutral. But you'll need to make sure the jumpers are set in the right place (for 208V). Mine has an illustration of where they should be on the red insulated plate the wires screw into (they are different for 208V, 380V and 415V).

it does say made in italy inside the machine, and Interlas on the out side box, so its a ita-ller half italian half miller...lols

I went for a 40 amp type D breaker on mine. I suspect your 32 amp type D will work just as well. The B type breakers don't allow for the enormous current surge needed to fill up the transformers on the Syncrowave on start up.

I think Millers were made under licence by Interlas. Ours aren't that much different from the US spec ones apart from the input voltages, so the manual from Miller for roughly the right year from the Miller site is useful.

this is what reply miller sent me for technical assistance:

"In all cases the machine chassis needs an earth ground for safety. What we call single phase is having working line power between two lines. What we call three phase is having working line power between three lines and these three lines would read the same voltage line to line (line 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 1). What confuses the issue is that in the United States you do not see a hot line common to ground however this is not unusual in some parts of the world. Fortunately our machine does not care if a working power line is common with earth or not. Please wire as described in the next paragraph.



Your safety ground wire must go to the chassis ground connection inside the machine. Your hot and what you call neutral go to the two line terminals on the primary board, there is no polarity. If the voltage between your hot and neutral wires is within 10% of what you have the primary board linked for, you should be good. "


It sounds similar to how youve wired up your machine, the manual they recommended me to use is for the syncrowave 350, as long as it works sounds good to me

finaly wired it up- it tripped the whole site -probably because my work place has only got 30amps current max, will contact electric board and see if they can sort me out my own increased supply...oh well going to have to wait and see what happens.

Still using a Miller Dialarc water coled, BIG is the word
