Sorry for the possibly over asked post.
I have been looking for a AC tig welder to learn Tig on and a syncrowave 275 has come up. So it looks like an old transformer machine. Would I be making a rod for my own back getting this rather than a fancy but cheap modern inverter with all the settings? My use case is bike frame repair and mods, so primarily thin steels but being able to build up and then machine ovalised bearing areas is what I would like to use the aluminium capability rather than thin tubes.
