Not been on for a while, just had so much on.
Anyway, finally got a new welder, well not quite so new, but new to me.
A Miller Maxstar 200DX, via Ebay, been after a Miller machine forever, so finally got one within my budget.
I'm not bothered about AC function, so a DC TIG will do me nicely.
Open the box, and the power cable, which is long enough to plug in to the next village, looked a dodgy just as it comes out of the case. Not a problem, I've got plenty cable to cut it and re-terminate.
So cable sorted out, plug it in, and it's ALLLIIIIVVEEE....
Hang on, whats that noise, that a hissing sound. Nah that does not sound right.
Pop the lid aaannnd...
One of the dirty great capacitors on the main board is bulging, in fact it looks like a bouncy castle for Lilliputians.
So.......
I'm open to suggestions and thoughts...
Oh, I'll sort out some pics after tea
