For the money, this is a good kit. Be patient, follow the instructions and go through all the grades, and keep it wet with a sprayer!
The arbour on the spinning thing of your choice will fling white blobs, so best to use outside.

Ive used that kit before and they came up like new was not a quick process though !

No need for these fancy products but note you need proper UV protection for it to last through a summer.
Paint polish on its own would do a reasonably acceptable job, took about 5 mins per light for mine using 3m Finess-It with no sanding. However after 6 months it could do with another go.
I am not convinced that these wipe on UV liquids are any good.
The best results will be from sanding to p800 and then a coat of decent 2k clear coat to seal it with UV protection.
My results here with some pics

I bought a kit from Halfords. Instruction were to wipe the headlight with a sachet of something, then start sandpapering with an emery block.
Then start polishing with some more of the first stuff.
I read it several times, it didn’t make sense.
Anyway, polishing with a rag and the first chemical soon had the surface clear and shiny, which I doubt very much worth have happening if I’d sanded the things. Then the sealant was wiped on and the end result was quite satisfying.

Never had to do this to any of my car headlights.
I give mine an occasional polish with whatever polish im doing the rest of the car with. Keeps them looking perfect.

I had a decent result just using a mop on a cheap DA orbital polisher with some cutting / polishing compound (G3 from memory).
I'd say results were 8/10 for 5 minutes work and looked good, I'm sure more time and using course then medium then fine polishes would have given a near perfect result.
Beware the polish will fly around. Wipe it off quick, once it dries it's a beggar to remove - check your glass, paintwork .. I got some on my dash when I was polishing the paintwork and it took a lot of scrubbing to clean once it had dried.

UV resistant lacquer is applied after you get them clear to keep them that way. Mine are facing away from the sun when parked and never clouded up in 11 years on the Berlingo. The Vitara we now have is clear as well.
Has anyone tried this kind of restoration kit, where the final "icing on the cake" is applied using a vapour-phase product?

+1 This is all I do.
I've heard said that once polished, going over them with a boat hull gelcoat protector helps reduce the UV damage.
I've not bothered, but I might try it next time.

I used toothpaste, apparently wood ash works too.
mask well if your doing them in the car , just use any t cut or the likes , it all seems to work well with a polisher , but you have to uv coat them afterwards or they will be worse than ever in months , clear lacquer with uv protection works well.

Results after 5 minutes with a DA mop & polishing compound, "Before" was so cloudy you couldn't make out the bulbs or reflectors..
Score 8/10 with very little effort, expect better results if you spend more time.

Yes I've done them with that machine as a quick fix, the results look good but if you linger too long on one spot or overdo it it can create a mark.
They get manky again in a few months, so I'm going the polishing with sandpaper/compound route and clearcoating over the results next time.
