Most of the extra air traffic at the moment is in relation to RIAT which is running this weekend. Seen a few F16 go over today.

I couldn't believe it when I heard they were sacking them off, like the Harriers, they were our best assets - real 'force multipliers' sure, the C17's can do real heavy lift but they'd never use them in contested airspace or risk them on strips like this...
And I wouldn't fancy doing this on a C17...
In all seriousness, thanks for keeping them in the air - I had flown with the crew of Hilton 22 many times, and I witnessed how it affected the other crews - even the GE's!

..with regards to the C17, there is a new kid on the block now with more capability, the A400M (Atlas)
