Mine is 10mm and it's absolutely fine, albeit I wouldn't want to go much thinner.

Here's the depressing bit: Paid £125 + £10 delivery for 2000mm x 1000mm x 10mm in 2020. Now it's £195 (all ex vat).

I priced up a job this week based on what I paid for the aluminium in 2020.
I've bought stuff fairly regularly since then so thought I was on top of the current prices and added 40% onto the 2020 invoice.
Ordered it on Wednesday.

£582 in 2020 which included a 3m length of 100mm² box section,

£814 now for the same order less the 100mm box.
Think I've lost a few quid profit on this job..

I hate to say it but with the price of granite these days a big cast iron surface plate off an auction would make a good welding table
