Mild steel mig wire...online buying...

I don't often get time to hit the shops as I work the usual 9-5 in the middle of nowhere and weekends are usualy pretty busy. there is a welding supplies round the corner but they seem to be rather pricey, so I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a decent online place to get some 0.6 wire from? or would it not be worth it due to shipping costs on a 5kg roll?

speak to weldequip or diywelding, the only thing that might raise costs is postage, but isnt so bad if you buy mig tips and shrouds etc at the same time. Might be worth buying 2 rolls at once

5kg reels are very expensive in comparison to 15kg reels. TBH for one 5kg reel of wire you might be better off going to that well-known car parts retailer/chav haven beginning with H. Their wire prices aren't too bad at all, I think around £14 for 5kg of 0.6mm. If you need other bits like tips, shrouds, liner etc then I'm sure weldequip or diywelding could put a package together for you. 5kg is quite a lot of weight to post, so it's going to cost you around £20 just for the wire.

weldequip has a 'postage included' price on anything up to 30kg so it would be worth you stocking up on other bits and pieces like abrasives etc while you're at it.

hhmmm, I may have to have a word with Weldequip again as I need some flap discs and a couple of new tips too (havn't killed one yet...but its only a matter of time!)
I have a local Halfrauds (get it? ...ok I'll get me coat)...but they dont sell the wire or small gas bottles, mainly only compressor stuff so I have to go down the next one along which is 15 miles away...going for a BOC bottle when I get round to the welding on dad's mk2 cortina, but for now I dont need that much.

Erm, I have a load of boxes of 1.2mm 15kg mig wire if anyone is interested (Leeds area). I am going to stick it on ebay but if it is anygood to anyone, and they can pick up, i would prefer to sell it cheapycheapcheap to someone on here.
