migmate 130 turbo gas problem

Hi folks, brand new here so be gentle please.

Ive had my welder for a few years now(migmate 130 turbo) & although light use only really it has developed a fault where the gas just runs constantly through the torch even when im not pressing the trigger, in fact pressing the trigger actually cuts the gas off

I have had the torch in bits to see if there was anything obvious wrong but i couldnt see anything & all the electrical connections etc. appear to be as intended....

any help with this appreciated...

It'll probably be a stuck gas valve in the torch. The valve will be similar to this one and is mechanically operated by the trigger, take the torch apart and spray some wd40 around the plunger and that should free it off. A few taps might be needed to help loosen it.

Awesome mate! done exactly as you said & worked the valve button while using the old wd40 & wiped away the grime as it came out, trigger feels like new again & the gas is flowing as intended, saved me £25 thank you

I just wanted to say, be careful using WD40 as a cleaner; it is very good I know, and have used it a lot myself for cleaning, and protecting many things - BUT - WD40, is known to damage rubbers and plastics - i.e, seals, some of my own property has simply disolved because I used WD40.
3 in 1 oil is said not to damage rubber or plastics, so I switched to 3 in 1, but I would advise anyone wanting to clean tools, to use a purpose made cleaner if you can, but be careful with WD40 - it may destroy any rubber, or plastic seals.
