Mighty MIG 150 Gas Conversion

Hi Folks

I'm absolutely brand new to welding and my wife bought me a Sealey Mighty MIG 150. I'm told I should buy the gas conversion kit (whatever that is) but I have no idea what it is I'm looking for or if indeed I need it.

I haven't tried my hand at using the welder yet because I'm rather wary of the power of the thing so any advice on "my first weld" would be very gratefully received.

Gas conversion kit is normally something that lets you use large shielding gas bottles rather than little disposable ones that last for 6 minutes. Here's one. Makes welding a lot cheaper. For occasional use look at the gas supplier list for independent suppliers.

For where to start, working through the tutorial from start to finish should get you up to speed.
