Personally I would rather run an old migatronic than a new cheap chinese machine
They aren't *that* bad in a hobby setup, my, similar migatronic idles at about 40W. It'll use more juice in use too but it might sit unused for a month. A new inverter one would save a few pence or maybe even pounds on the occasions it gets used, but be sat depreciating more quickly the rest of the time. I bought a mint lovely old Migatronic TIG with water cooler. 3 phase. But even to just power it up took 32amps 415V. I sadly had to sell it before I could even try it out.
