Migatronic Pilot 1800/2400 - disable cooler?

Hi guys,

Regarding the Migatronic Pilot 1800: Mine came with a water cooler. I don't need this for the low amp welding I do, and have disconnected the lead between the welder and the cooler. I've also fitted an air cooled torch/cable. However I get the Etc-error sign indicating that there's a cooler problem. Any suggestions on how to avoid this? I can't find anything in the manual.

Somewhere in the welder or cooler will be a flow or pressure switch to monitor the waterflow, depending on how it switches (normally open or normally closed) it will need to be bypassed.

It sounds strange that some kind of bypass system have to be arranged. I assume this is a setting in the control unit. However it might require spesific input on the front panel (key combinations or something similar). I will research more right now.

There. Thanks to customer support in Norway: Pin number 2 and 4 on the remote control plug must be connected together. That overrides the water-flow sensor, and the cooler can be disconnected. This fix must _NOT_ be used with a water cooled TIG cable and torch. The cable and torch will be destroyed in a very short time. Only for air cooled cables and torches. I'll hook up a switch to mine in due time, but for now it works fine with the air cooled torch/cable.
