Hello! I have a problem with a mig welder - Migatronic 5000. It's not penetrating the metal , it just build up on top of the metal. The story with this is: my uncle gave it to me ,he used it on 3phase 380v .. i came with the welder home and i saw that it is also labeled 220v on the front plate.. i didn't find many informations about this type of mig welder, so i start "playing" with it..
1) i switched the connector to 220v on Traf (it was on left pin initially, but welder didn't turn on,after switching to the right pin it starts )
2) i put a standard 220v socket ( inittialy 3 phase socket ) by joining 2 phase into one , and letting one alone (black joined with brown , Blue alone)
3)i joined 1&3 and 2&6 on the contactor
The welder is turning on "it's working", but has no penetration into the metal. I measured DC Voltage on the tip of the gun (+) and ground from the clamp and on the max settings i've got 11V .. on the front plate it is marked 18-25 volts.. so the voltage is low. I'm thinking that maybe this welder doesn't work on 220v but having no luck finding information about it ... i wrote up this in hope of help. Thank you
