Mig with stick attachment?

Does anyone make a stick attachment that you can plug into my mig welder? Like a hose replacement to make it a stick welder??

Stick is constant current, MIG is constant voltage.

The two are not compatible.

You would have a real hard time maintaining an arc and starting might damage the welder.

Some top end machines have the facility, but otherwise, its a no.

You can find stick welders real cheap off Craigs List.

Stay away from low-amp ones (less than 140A.) There are a lot of old 240 volt beasts out there that will run circles around new cheap ones. I see a Craftsman, Lincoln, Forney or Century beasts (>120 lbs) go for $100 or less every week or so.

Old, used they will still work as there is nothing to fail. Even if it was abused, there is what you will pay in copper in them as scrap.

The only other alternative is to use flux cored wire and go gassless if you only need to do limited amounts?
