MIG welding with Argon

I’ve ran out of CO2/Argon but want to finish off my welding cart, which is the cable storage and bottom shelve.
I’ve got a bottle of pure Argon sat doing nothing. I know it will give me deep but narrow penetration and high welds. If I drop the voltage and wire feed allowing a weave pattern with the torch I’m hoping this will compensate for the effect of using pure Argon.
Please let me have your thoughts.

The welds will be 5mm flat bar onto 20mm square tube 2mm wall for the cable storage. 1.5mm sheet onto same 20mm square tube 2mm wall.

iv'e used pure argon before with no problems was given a full bottle also used just C02 with no problems
my welder is old school ERFI may not suit modern welders

  3. With argon you will get very shallow penetration and quite a bit of arc wander but if people are saying it will work give it a go, so long as it’s nowt critical you may get away with it

Well I’ve used it and it’s not the prettiest weld, intact it’s quite ugly. It’s done the job though. As it’s just for cables to wrap around it’s nothing crucial.
The shelf can wait until I have some more CO2/Argon as I’d rather that be solid.
