Mig welding S/S yes or No

Hi All

I have just started welding alot of frame works up at work using TIG and was wondering if it would be quicker using a MIG set.

Any thoughts

Whats the material, and application, and rough description/pic of said frames?

In answer to the question is MIG quicker than TIG, generally yes.

The material is 304 Stainless steel 25 x 25 x 2mm box and also some 40 x 40 x 3mm.

The finished item is to be a large storage cupboard and chemical cage in a food manufacturing plant.

Being what it is you could just MIG it, itd be quicker, wouldnt look as nice but you could always tidy it up with a flap disc?

Yes, MIG will almost certainly be faster from a welding POV but total job time is different... What sort of finish is the client expecting?
