Hi all, i dont wish to repeat myself with the intro so its here.http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=36484
I have repairs to make to both cars, not big ones in the grand scheme of things but im sure it will seem that way having very little experience of welding and none with a MIG. Im going to need help and advise from you lot along the way.
So the escort innerwing had a bodged plate that was invisible on the underside due to all the shultz painted over it and hidden by the battery and tray from the engine bay side.
The plate was soon removed with a cold chisel and a FBH as you can see the welding was minimal and crap.
So i thought it about time i learned how to weld, plus i cant move the car at the moment because the engines partly stripped too, i do know a couple of welders in the car club im in who would have done it for me but i like to do as much as possible myself.
Out with the angle grinder then!!
I did go back atfer i took this pic to square off the hole and tidy up the top edge.
I then bought this locally.
So thats as it stands at the moment, i need some gas and some scrap steel and plenty of practise before i go anywhere near the car.
