MIG Welding Forum best buy?

same as the practical classic's welder best buy- what would the forum members consider a best buy?

would need to set some sort of price brackets
£0 - £300 £300 - 550?

and some sort of features conparason.
best for automotive, manufacturing?

my vote for the £300-£550 bracket goes to a 'Portamig 181.' Top machine, easy to setup, easy to use, just generaly 'easy'....and I have a yellow one

Although I have to admit to not having used anything else... so I could be accussed of some bias...

I've just ordered a Portamig 211.

Its pretty.

Beetle '65 currently getting stripped..
'72 Van...currently in use...

Only used it a little as I have not had it long, but will be mainly panel repairs, sills, bottom of doors...the whole of the '65

You mean there are others?

Shouldn't that be £300 - £500 Portamig 181
£500+ Portamig 211 (unless w'eq is doing the 211 for less than the £595 he quoted me!)

These prices all inc VAT (and delivery for the P'amig) of course.
