Surely once a blade has snapped its F***D???, and a properly set saw should not snap blades regularly, often people ignore running in procedures and chip teeth, this then causes snags and the blade snaps prematurely, or work is not properly supported thus damaging the blade, Or lack of coolant could be another issue......... I now use full Carbide blades which are excellent but even standard carbon loops should last for many cuts, If your ruining blades to the extent that you feel its necessary to weld em together... then your using the saw incorectly.....
Yes as mentioned MIG welding the tempered steel will cause a dissimilar joint and the heating effect will undoubtedly cause a brittle joint, but more than that a rough point will damage guides rollers, and an uneven stretch vus causing off square cuts........
