Hi all, first post for me on here and looking for some opinions.
I'm going to be making a bracket for attaching a Hydraulic grab to a Hymac excavator and just want to know rough wire feed and Volts settings. It will be 25mm steel, fillet weld, 1mm wire and using a Kemppi X5 FastMig, i will give the steel a little preheat aswell before starting. This will be the 3rd time making this bracket but the first time using the X5 for it. Previously i've used our much older Mig welder which was very basic to set up but done a great job, only problem being there was no digital settings etc so was a lot of guesswork/playing with settings. That seems to be part of the problem with fancy modern weld machines, they tend to have me overthinking settings etc. Just to add, the bracket once made gets sent out to get load tested and certificated etc. Thanks in advance for an help.
