Evening all,
My first post, so please be gentle!
I'm looking to buy my first MIG welder, as i'm setting up on my own having recently moved into my own house. Previously i've used my dad's 220A Sealey Mig, which has been ok, but suffers, i think, from having the wire left outside in the workshop, coupled with it not being used too often.
My intention is to be able to do chassis modifications, repairs etc, as well as fabricate bumpers, and in the fullness of time, winch mounts and roll cages.
so, the questions:
Is 180A - 220A the right ball park?
Which machines are worth looking at?
- i've seen the portamig machines on here, good reviews.
I don't have a huge budget, but i want to buy a worthwhile machine. I'm not interested in something that will only last a few months etc.
Cheers
Luke
