Mig Welder

I am looking to buy a mig welder for the farm workshop, after using a stick welder for years, I have noticed my local blacksmith and engineer both use migatronic welders.
I will be welding a mix of steel ranging from 2mm minimum to 10mm maximum, will a migtronic 221 be big enough for this? there is one on a popular auction site near me.
Are there any other makes i should be looking at?

Hi James, welcome to the forum.
That machine is 180 amps which is good for about 6mm or so.
If you want to weld 10mm then you'll need something much bigger or use the mig for thinner stuff and carry on using the stick for the bigger stuff.

i actually bought a migweld 140 from longevity and so far its working out really well for the projects that ive been working on. you should check it out. i am actually looking at getting plasma cutter from them after seeing a video by lanse who also owns a hypertherm.
