mig welder

got this mig welder 30years ago.on it it got supermig 105.on the pic I'm showing you it has two white switches .when i bought the mig welder it had no instructions with it,When i put the two switches down it blows holes in the metal .i spray cars i dont mig weld ,as one panel beater said ,your welding is like chicken sh---t or a bunch of grapes.could you tell me about these two switches.

they are the power settings (voltage) cant quite make out anything on the second switch some say min and max on the second switch

Snooper's told you what they are!
Power settings, probably 1 min, 1 max, 2 min, 2 max.
Strange to have an off position between 1 and 2 but as you don't change power settings while you're welding I suppose it doesn't matter.
If you put both switches down that gives you 2 max which is why you're blowing holes in thin stuff.
Try both switches up, bet it won't then.
