Hi, could anybody please help, i have a Sealey Supermig 160-old one, the gas comes out of the gun all the time now, worked fine till this, i have changed the regulator but just does the same, cheers Chris.
Does it have a gas valve inside the torch like this? (pic courtesy of Weldequip)
If so then it may just be sticking or you might need a new one. Try tapping the torch firmly against something and see if the gas stops flowing. The plunger should be out as in the pic.
PM weldequip if you need any parts, he stocks lots of bits and pieces like that.
Hi Wozzaaah, thankyou very much for the info, i thought i was there but the gun on this one is totally different, it only as two wires going to the trigger switch on the gun a red one and a white one, when pressed make a contact nothing else in there,????????? cheers Chris.
In which case you have a gas solenoid inside the machine. May be a faulty solenoid or a faulty pcb. Might even just be some dirt on the pcb bridging contacts.
hi woz,
what a man you was spot on it was debris in the solinoid valve, thanks for saving me a lot of messing i really valued your advice.
cheers chris.
No probs Chris.
As much as i'd like to take credit for helping you, it's only troubleshooting advice I've picked up from other threads on here but thanks anyway
