Mig torch trigger switch

Hi
When I pull the trigger on my mig torch it seems to work sometimes and other times it doesn't and when it does it feeds wire and then stops and then feeds again anyone able to help me

What welding set do you have? is it possibly set to spot or stitch mode?

Make sure machine is switched off and open the might torch( hex key generally needed) should be two wires connect to the trigger. May have come loose of corroded somewhat.trying cleaning/fine sanding the piece of copper(or whatever it is attached to the trigger and reattach the wires. May help

Ahhm WHY ? Do you remove the battery every time you open your car bonnet.

Nothing inside a MIG torch to harm you.

The top dial on the right is set at 5 should it be at 0 any ideas

Yeah that's probably a spot timer. Put it on Zero

Problem seems to be sorted it was that dial thanks for the help

Because if you have the torch in bits there is the possibility of shorting the trigger, this will feed the wire and make the torch live.

Only if you are a complete halfwit ! Worked with much more dangerous live situations than a live MIG torch. Is'nt an MMA torch live ????
