I have a Lincoln 135 Pro, and I have been using it for patch work on a car project. I usually cut out a patch from 18 gauge, and butt weld it into place. Little or no gap. I start with spot welds, and end with bead. I am disappointed with the penetration of my welds, which look good from the top side, but when I look at the back of the patch, its spotty and has terrible penetration, the seam at the butt is clearly visible. Im a new welder, and havent mastered the mig yet. Any tips or ideas would be great to help me, thanks
