I have now got a good table to weld on and after setting up my R Tech mig,i did some practice
on flat plate then tried a practice dice i got from Amazon.
Now i know it looks like stevie wonder did it but, for first attempt i like it.

Ok, iwill get my coat now.

enjoy what you do and it will all fall into place , or fall into holes ...

well done on getting some torch time in, practice is the way forward but the best advice at the moment, is walk before you run...

flat plate might get boring, but its good to get the basics burned in first, then try some butt joint, lap joints etc.

the dice looks to be quite thin and has gaps which will be quite a difficult weld at the best of times being an outside corner as well.

if theres a local engineering shop , go there with a bag of buns and an apple pie and offer to buy the cuttings from behind their guillotine , if your nice they will chomp it into 4 or 5 inch bits for you ,,, 2 or 3mm maybe and off you go
