MIG liners what are they?

Crikey, they're only a fiver for a new one! Why bother bodging it?!

As I said above, it's a useful bit of info to have at the back of your head if you get stuck. Gets you on with the job at hand.

I know what you mean. But you wouldn't not have some spare tips and a shroud just incase, so why not have a liner? I keep several, one is just for stainless, but is also a spare and then a brand new one. They're a consumable part, just like tips and shrouds. I realise a hobby user may never wear one out, but still, what's 5 quid compared to not getting what you needed to done because you hadn't a spare in the drawer?

As well as using old liners for "Snaking" wires and cables through awkward places, I remember getting all sorts of hell for taking the wife's curtains down to do just that one weekend, Did not go down well!

Late here, but I needed to do some ally with my euro torch. Read the bits about 'special liners' But tried it anyway with the spiral one supplied. No prob. And, Just done it again with another small ally job.

As said, I use net curtain wire for steel. Most would call it a bodge but it works and I'm tight (£5 > 79p). I do have a teflon liner for aluminium as I was told I needed one. Never got around to welding any aluminium with it though. When it comes to welding aluminium it's a case of "all the gear, no idea!".
