What make and model of welder and why do you need to change the torch / lead?
The trigger, of course, has two wires going to it: low-voltage feed -- [switch] -- return.
I can't see how your torch (gun) would not have two wires as it can't use the common return ("earth lead") as that's not inside the torch cable set.

Yes, correct.Thanks for the help , so I've just been told by someone (not on here) to put 1 trigger wire to the connection on the original welder and the other trigger wire goes to the main power wire would this be correct
