MIG gas in Middlesbrough

Hi all

Where can i get some cheap(ish) gas for my MIG in Middlesbrough? I currently use small bottles but could go for something bigger.

Im restoring an old mini and only welding a few patches so dont fancy paying a fortune on a big bottle when a few smaller ones will do.

depends what you want. Have you tried Gaffneys on Lawsons Ind. Estate? Failing that, if its co2 you want, I could sell you a bottle.

Gaffneys will only do you a BOC bottle, just taken mine back there today.

I've just got a Hobbyweld cylinder from Rustybugs in Skelton. Was going to get a cylinder from Foxgas at Aycliffe until I discovered Rustybugs had become Hobbyweld agents, they're very handy for me as I live in Guisborough.

I have been looking into hobbyweld they look like the best option as I have a few panels to do on the old mini so don't want to rent bottles and spend a fortune.

What are people's experiences with deposits at rustybugs? Do you get it all back?

What would you suggest is best hobbyweld 5 or 15? I am welding door skins and other panels using a Sealey MightyMIG 130xt.

You get all but £10 back.
Hobbyweld 5 is their Argoshield light equivalent which is the one you want.

To cover off other comments, if Hobbyweld have been daft enough to breach the terms of this board then banning them is fair enough, I have no connection with either them or their agents. I'm just suggesting to the OP that they're a viable option in his part of the world.

I'm very happy, I've got a full bottle of gas without ongoing rental charges for the same sort of money I've been giving BOC every year. Even if I didn't get any of the deposit back at the end I'll be ahead in about 14 months.

15 quid and £33.00 for a new bottle full AT AUTOJUMBLES WITHOUT exchange

thanks for that ill certainly be needing some gas soon, whats the correct type for my MG B car panels welding project? (i have a Clarke 100e MIG on the way) Is it a specific mix or can you choose from a couple based on your preferences/budget?

Im in middlesbrough, i think i'll head to rufforth next month too didn't know it existed.
