My welder has been sat in my cupboard for about 12 months. i removed the regulator from the small(60 ltr) bottle, i need to use it and the bottle sounds empty. Its argon/o2 will i be able to hear the contents move about? when i put it in storage the bottle was a brand new one and i used it for about 3 mins to blob a weld on exhaust. i read that they self seal when you remove the reg so i am mifted and also the wire hasnt much on it, but all it says on the spool is 0.6mm. would i use fluxed or non fluxed

Stick the regulator on it and open the valve to see if you get pressure, easiest way I would have thought.

Does a full bottle make a different sound to an empty one? (if you were to tap it)

You want non-flux wire.

Could be empty, hook it up and see if you get any gas out. They only last less than 10 minutes of use. Ridiculously expensive to use.

If you are going to use disposables, get the 110L bottles. Or use CO2 as the CO2 disposables last something like 40 minutes of use.

ah can i use to pure o2 then? im just going off what came on the welder when i got it

No, you will need C02 or an argon mix for mig welding steel.

Once those disposable cylinders are empty the pin in the valve drops so by shaking it you should hear the pin rattling.
