Hi All,
I have a Sealey Supermig 200 which until recently I'd always used it with the factory fitted 13am plug. Of the 6 power settings, perhaps unsurprisingly when on 6 it would frequently pop the fuse so recently fitted a 16 amp plug.
I tried using it on 6 for the first time at the weekend and instantly it would blow the mig wire. I switched back down to power setting 5 and adjusted the feed to a level that gave me a good weld before switching back to power setting 6 which once again just instantly blew the wire back to the tip the moment I pulled the trigger. Upping the feed again yielded the same result. After a few attempts it tripped the RCD (20amp).
Might there be something wrong with the welder to be blowing the mig wire like it is? I'm using 0.8mm wire, 5% Argon mix.
Thanks,
Joe
