I've just got a mig for the first time and these are my attempts at 'welding' with it. Any advice on how to improve? I'm finding it rather hard to set the voltage and wire feed.
    This is on 2-2.5mm material.
    Thanks

Looking at the first images i would say more power and slow down on your travel speed. Its not a race

  5. For 1st attempts they really aren't bad at all. The weld looks a little built up, as had been said try upping the juice or backing the wire off a bit.
If you have access to some thicker material you may be better using that as it will allow you to play around with your settings without the danger of blowing through, all that said you are definitely on the right track
Out of interest what wire size and shielding has are you using

what kind of settings are you running at the moment e.g Amps/Volts? Not too bad but looks a bit cold and a little to high. Whack up the temp a bit and see how you go

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Been a bit snowed under with other thing so I haven't really had much time to try again. Hopefully will manage some soon.

    It's 0.8mm and 5% co2 mix gas.
