Most of the welding jobs I’m asked to do are generally repair jobs or involve re-using rusty old bits of scrap and off cuts they therefore normally require me to use one of my trusty oil cooled arc sets. So it’s nice now and again to be asked to make something from scratch with nice new stock steel. And since the customers electrical supply was unlikely to cope with the demands of the old pickhill bantam I dusted off my 130 mig. This job also involved me doing a bit of measuring up and taking the box section to the benders to have it radius’d which I don’t get to do that often it’s a great place with some monster kit. And I always get some serious machinery envy when I go there.
Anyhow since the weather was nice and the measurements where right I soon had this (We christened it) “the Mig Arc” and it reminded me that my mig has been a great value purchase I’ve had it since about 1998. It was bought as a shop soiled for £120.00 and even though I don’t’ use it that much, Each time I do I think I should make more use of it.
I’ve not posted much on this forum so far, Mainly cos I’m too busy reading all the interesting stuff to be found here. But thought I’d share a few pics of this by way of a bit of an introduction and just say thanks for all the interesting stuff posted by others. I have learnt a lot of usefull stuff from the pages here
All the best
