So basically, no matter what anti spatter spray I use, I find myself cleaning ( and I mean undoing the nozzle, and using either a pair of snips, pliers, or whatever I can find to get all the spatter off, then filing it down to clean and applying a fresh quirt of spray onto it) like almost every 10 minutes now. I'm not using flux cored wire, im using pretty high grade copper coated wire, and it just seems to spray spatter all over the shop. The power, wire speed, distance, gasflow rate etc are all fine because the welds come out nice and tidy, not perfect, but not far off.
I spray fair ammount of anti spatter spray on my work, and on my nozzle, but it just seems to stick to it anyway, the nozzle noticeably more so. I'm not too bothered about the spatter on the actual work, because it looks bad enough as it is (60 year old plant doesn't tend to be the prettiest), but when I spend half of my shift cleaning the crap out of my nozzle, it just annoys me
I don't know if anybody can help me with this, I haven't had that much MIG training, but my welds aren't too bad... Is there anything i'm missing?
Thanks guys!!
