Hi, new to the forum. I was happy welding with my new argon/co mix refillable cylinder when the welder cut out. I assumed it was the thermal cut-out but found it strange that the amber light went out completely. I can still hear the transformer humming when i switch it on a couple of hours later but can no longer hear the fan. The gun/wire/ gas still work but no arc. Is there an internal fuse for the fan they may have blown? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.
First thing I'd try is operating the power selector switches a few times, sometimes they don't always make good contact.
Secondly check for loose disconnected wires (unplug from the mains)
Third test the rectifiers with an ohmmeter.

Having looked at the diagram I wonder if your fan failed then the welder has over heated ? As the fan is across the power input (after the on/off switch) then if other parts are still working (wire feed) then the fan should still run! Also the power on lamp is also across the input so should also light !!
Note that the gas will still work as there is a gas valve in the torch which is a mechanical valve not an electrical valve. Think you will find the thermal cutout is the item on diagram marked as "TH" which may be attached to the main transformer or the diode pack. This may have "opened" when to hot but failed to close.
The above all assumes that it is the same version of the 150 EN as the diagram (check pcb number is same as on diagram)

If the wire feeds it must be getting power from main transformer
Thanks guys and also thanks for the welcome! i will test the various elements when i get a free minute and keep you updated. Yeah wire feed and gas are fine. When i strike a weld it does make contact but the fusion is very weak. I would liken it to that of a sparkler! Should a fan not operating still allow this action to happen?

Check the physical connections of the earth lead / return and also the main feed to the torch, just because it looks good doesn't mean it is and that's where my money lies the fan should operate regardless of the welding components only thing in common is the power in and the mains switch

the above diagram is different to the 151en clarke are showing on their website though
although they don't actually list the 151 in the manual so ......

The "P" is the Push button on the torch (yes I know it's no where near the torch ! but that is not unusual with circuit diagrams ! (relays are typical of this sort of thing, one part in one section of diagram and other parts in another)
If you look at the diagram now you will see that the pink line goes from the weld voltage "+" to the pcb pin 1 via the trigger push button. Comparing it to the 160 circuit diagram which has the pink line added you can see it does the same as in takes the "+" weld voltage and via the trigger goes to the pcb pin 1 (but not via the cut out, that's handled else where)
