Hi, I have a 196, but the models listed in the title all have an unusual size nozzle.
Have any owners of the above ever managed to convert then to a more available nozzle size?
MB15 would be ideal.
I suppose I could buy a new Swan neck for an MB15, cut them and braze the two pieces together.
Just wondered if anyone has a better solution.
Also does anyone feel I would run into any problems later on.
Hi MikeBs, and apologies for not introducing myself earlier to the group.
I have a clarke mig145 turbo and wished to use the cheaper and smaller mb15 parts. My solution was to unscrew the original tip adapter and make a new one. But when purchasing a Mb15 tip adapter to fit I have to make sure it's one with a righthand thread a lot are lefthand but my local welding supplies Wecs of Sheffield stocks both. Please see pics below if you PM me Mike I'll supply you with one foc. The old adapter is shown top left in first pic and at the bottom the new one. You can see in the 2nd pic the new adapter does move the shroud forward but hasn't caused me any difficulties.

Just to finish this thread in case anyone else has the same problem and wants to solve it.
Thanks Lee for the help and it was good to speak to you on the phone.
The adaptor and new tip worked perfectly. I had tried to work out the threads that are used by the MB15 tip holder from eBay and it had me baffled.
Never crossed my mind that the 'standard' MB15 tip holder could be a LH thread.
Anyway, it now all works and I have found my nearest welding supplier (34 miles away) stocks tip holders that have a RH thread.
