Home and Workshop Machinery have recently had a Myford Super 7 on their site for over 5 grand, and a Colchester Master in similar condition for just over 3. What is that about? The Colchester is 10 times the lathe.

(though I do think you are being conservative with 10x the lathe)

Trouble is a lot of people living in apartment land now don't have room for anything like a colchester. But you could get away with a little myford in a spare room.

Myford lathes in good condition are very accurate but yes their used value is mad!
Myford also made the best small cylindrical grinder money could buy, gauge quality.
My pal made a quorn cutter grinder and its a very useful and adaptable machine and capable of grinding jobs that are a pain on my clarkson and deckel grinders

Yes i seen one and couldn't believe it was a myford, really nice machine.

I have to agree, but H&W had some myfords recently for not much money to clear.

You could get away with a Myford in a spare room. That's what they are for I suppose. For elderly gentlemen to while away their retirement on.

I've heard a lot about their accuracy and precision, but then a lot depends on who is using it. I have a Drummond Model B from 1919, and it's basically the same machine.

You are absolutely right, but the price of these things? Messes with my head.

I have 2 ml7 and a Harrison one I bought brand new 700 quid and the second I gave 100 quid for the harrision was about 4oo from memory
