Microblistering problem

Do you have filtering on the gun, I used to have problems with moisture blistering paintwork until I fitted a silica gel filter on the gun. When I have finished spraying I pop the cartridge off, put it in the airing cupboard or a low oven to dry out and then seal it in a ziplock bag till it's required again.
Never had blistering since.

The above is similar to mine but mine are 'pancake' shaped with metal threads.

Where do you buy these or the one you've got. They sound like a useful investment.

Be careful, I had a similar problem once, flatted them out and polished, perfect. 2 weeks later they were back. Had to take back to primer and respray.

New paint has arrived so thought I would get on and paint some panels again. Well, it went on beautifully and flows out nicely, so no grumbles with the paint quality.

However...

I still have a serious fisheye problem. This affected two pieces, one painted inside and one painted outside. I went to a great deal of trouble cleaning the panels carefully and more than once. Final clean was fast panel wipe. So I am now getting to the stage of chucking Teddy out of the pram!

The hose was replaced before work started, as the original had burst. I don't think that is relevant though, I don't inject oil into hoses at all.

The one remaining possiblilty is the cleaning cloths I use. They were purchased as lint free cloths from a manufacturer of car covers, they are actually offcuts. I am just wondering if they are contaminated in some way, as the problem is so great, it suggest I am wiping silicon onto the panel, rather than removing it.

What does everyone else use for cleaning cloth?

Everyone I know uses paper towel not cloth, I use one paper towel to put the panel wipe on and another to take it off, Probably your problem

Yes mate,I usually use the blue rolls

agreed on paper roll..and its important to use a another dry cloth to wipe off the panel before it dries , if in doubt repeat with fresh cloths

Thanks both. It is starting to look like it could be the issue. I nearly cried when I saw it, after all the issues with faulty paint, I spent ages getting the surface just so and I get that problem. Funnily enough, I didn't get an apparent problem on small parts I prettied up with basecoat and laquer....
